Alice “Ali” Jo Ann Miller (née Sala)
June 24, 1934 – May 17, 2025
Alice “Ali” Jo Ann Miller of Wall, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, May 17, 2025, with her loving son Curt by her side.
Born on June 24, 1934, in Monaca, Pennsylvania, Ali was the cherished daughter of Adrian and Catherine Sala. She spent her early years in Newark before her family settled in Wall, where she would live for the rest of her life, deeply connected to the Jersey Shore community.
A proud graduate of Manasquan High School, Ali lived a life rooted in kindness, service, and meaningful connection. Throughout her professional journey, she held a variety of roles that reflected her commitment to helping others. A highlight of her career was her time at Travel with Ellie in Wall Township, where she found joy and purpose working alongside lifelong friends. There, she was part of a close-knit team dedicated to crafting unforgettable experiences—everything from once-in-a-lifetime adventures to everyday getaways. Her passion for travel was contagious, and she loved sharing that joy with others.
Ali was a devoted wife to the late John “Jack” Miller, with whom she shared 45 wonderful years of marriage. Together they built a home grounded in love, laughter, and unwavering support. But perhaps the greatest joy in Ali’s life was being a mother. She poured her heart into raising her two sons, Curt and Christopher, finding immense pride and fulfillment in watching them grow. To Ali, motherhood was not just a role—it was a calling. She delighted in every milestone, celebrated every success, and stood as a steady, compassionate presence during life’s challenges. Her sons were the light of her life, and her nurturing spirit shaped the strong, kind, and driven men they became. The love she gave so freely to them was her most lasting legacy.
Ali was also deeply involved in her faith community, serving as a Eucharistic Minister and volunteering her time generously. Whether traveling the world, spending time with friends, or supporting loved ones, she embraced every moment with warmth, gratitude, and grace. Her adventures, especially those shared with dear friends from her Travel with Ellie days, became treasured memories.
Ali is survived by her sons, Curt and Christopher Miller; her brother David Sala and his wife Bernadette; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Miller.
Ali will be remembered for her boundless love, kind heart, and the joy she found in caring for others. Her legacy of friendship, service, and, most of all, motherhood, will continue to inspire all who were lucky enough to know her.
Services are entrusted to Jersey Shore Cremation, 43 Taylor Avenue, Manasquan, NJ.
