Alice Helen Hoatson

Alice Helen Hoatson, of Spring Lake, NJ, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully on March 20, 2021, just shy of her 94th birthday. Born April 23, 1927 in Plymouth, PA, she was the beloved daughter of Nicholas and Rose (Kardell) Wasilewski, along with her sister Bernadine W. Solomon, twin brothers Chet and Edward, and younger brother Nicholas, who currently resides in Palm Coast, FL. with his wife Judith. Alice was pre-deceased by her oldest son James Craig and her husband James Hoatson. She is survived by her daughter Linda & son-in-law Wesley Powers of Hardwick, NJ, her daughter Nancy & son-in-law Bradley Powers of Boiling Springs Lakes, NC, and her son Thomas & daughter-in-law Kimberly Hoatson of Plum Island, MA. Alice had 8 grandchildren; James and Christopher Hoatson, Tiffany Hutchens, Timothy Powers, Allison Walley, Casey, Zachary and Evan Hoatson. Alice had 5 great grandchildren; Juliana and Valentina Hoatson, Harper and Taylor Hutchens and Emmett Walley. She is survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Alice lived her life to the fullest, and loved her family beyond compare. A woman of devout faith, she held the love of our Lord through difficult and dark times in her life, right up until her final breath. Alice brought joy to every celebration in life and comfort to those struggling in any way. One of her favorite pastimes was traveling to Atlantic City with her family and playing the slot machines. Her favorite song was “Under the Boardwalk” which she heartily danced to at her 90th BD celebration in Atlantic City, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Alice will always be remembered for witty comments on social media with her trademark ending of “Love.” She was loved dearly by so many wonderful people throughout her 93 years. In lieu of flowers, Alice’s family requests donations be made to The Arbors at Spring Lake, “In memory of Alice Hoatson”, where she spent the last few years of her life in their extraordinary care.
