Alfred Rola, 89 Architect, passed away May 15,2015 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune surrounded by his family.
Born in Santurce, Puerto Rico, he grew up in Somerville and NYC before moving his business to Manasquan. He graduated from Cooper Union School of Architecture and then interned for 13 years at various Architectural firms, working on hospitals and nursing home. He designed Kangaroo Courts in Brick, NJ's first Racquetball Court and many homes & office building in Deal, Spring Lake, Sea Girt, Wall, Brielle, FL, NY and more.
He was a member of the NJ Society of Architects, chairman of the PR committee for Monmouth Chapter of the American. Institute of Architects, Shore Builders Assoc. & the Pt. Pleasant BPOE Elks lodge #1698. He was Founder and President of Pt. Pleasant Rotary Club.
He is predeceased by his parents, Eduardo and Margarita Arroyo Rola, brothers Eduardo & Charles Rola & sister Luisa Cadalzo.
He is survived by son Thomas of Pt. Pleasant, brother Fernando of NYC, many nieces & nephews, and his loving companion Doris Gethard.
A Funeral Mass will be offered 9 AM Saturday, May 30th. at St. Martha's RC Church, Herbertsville Rd. Pt. Pleasant.
