Ronald Demeraski, 80, passed away on February 13, 2025, at Brick Hospital. Born on September 9, 1944, in Newark, NJ, he grew up in Harrison, where he developed the strong work ethic and principles that would guide him throughout his life.
After serving in the U.S. Air Force from 1964 to 1968, Ronald transitioned into civilian life, working hard to provide for his family. Determined to further his education, he returned to college after having children, earning an associate’s degree from Ocean County College while balancing work and fatherhood. He built a long career with Nabisco, where his dedication and pride in a job well done were evident to all who knew him.
Ronald enjoyed the simple pleasures in life—watching football, fishing, keeping up with the stock market, tackling home improvement projects, and unwinding with a good beer or the occasional game of poker. He had a sharp but corny sense of humor, best showcased in his “dad jokes.” A favorite was his Christmas tradition of gifting socks with a grin and declaring, “Christmas socks!” A lifelong fan of the underdog, he had a special appreciation for teams and people who fought hard against the odds—whether in sports, in life, or at the poker table.
He is survived by his children, Glen Demeraski, Stacy Saitta (husband Rich), Craig Demeraski (wife Melissa), and Jill Demeraski; his grandchildren, Abby and Charlie Demeraski, Gianna and Jace Saitta, and Ellena Demeraski; and his partner, Cyndi Tilley.
Per his wishes, no formal services are planned. In honor of Ronald’s memory, his family encourages those who knew him to share a joke, watch a football game, raise a beer, and take a moment to appreciate the value of hard work and humor in everyday life.
Services are entrusted to Jersey Shore Cremation, 43 Taylor Avenue, Manasquan, NJ.
